Hello, and thank you for taking the time to check out the Brave & Blended Living Blog!
My name is Lindsey, and after a lot of thought and prayer, I decided to put my heart and experiences out there in hopes of helping other moms navigating similar journeys. If even one mom out there finds encouragement, support, or strength here, it will all be worth it.
Our Brave & Blended Family
My husband and I met in November 2018, and our journey has been a whirlwind ever since. One day, I’ll share the full story of how God orchestrated our meeting—it’s straight out of a Hallmark Christmas movie!
In just six years, we’ve experienced more than some couples do in decades. We’ve faced infertility, walked through the chaos of foster care, and embraced the blessings of adoption. We’ve moved five times, changed jobs, and even started (and closed) a small business. Through it all, God has been faithful.

Life with 10 Kids
Yes, you read that right—we have 10 kids! When we met, my husband had four children from previous relationships, and I had one. Three of his children live in New Mexico with their mom, and we see them as often as we can. They were the first kids I ever stepped into the role of “Second Mom” for.
In 2022, we became foster parents. Our first placement, a 10-week-old baby, arrived on August 16th, 2022, and we’ve had him ever since. In 2023, we welcomed three siblings and adopted them in December of that year. Our youngest, the baby sister of our first placement, joined us shortly after, and we are currently in the adoption process for her as well.
(You’ll notice I refer to my children by initials to protect their privacy. Thank you for understanding.)
Once our adoptions are finalized, we’ll close our foster care license—not because our hearts aren’t open, but because our home is full!
Why I Started Brave & Blended Living
Becoming a Second Mom—whether through step-parenting, foster care, or adoption—is a unique and sometimes isolating experience. When we started fostering, I realized just how much step-parenting had prepared me for this journey, especially when it came to older children. But even with that experience, I longed for resources and community.
That’s why I created Brave & Blended Coaching and this blog. This is a space for moms like us—moms who are navigating blended families, foster care, adoption, and the challenges that come with them. My hope is to provide you with encouragement, practical tools, and a village of support from women who truly get it.
So, welcome! I’m so happy you’re here. Let’s do this journey together.Chat soon,
Lindsey
